The Biopark is the educational farm and garden of our agriturismo. There are farm animals with their young, organic vegetable plots and orchards, and safe paths with information on biodiversity. It is a centre for conservation and environmental education, in which it is also possible to enjoy learning opportunities, workshops and outdoor games.
The name “Silver Fir” was chosen with reference to the fir tree which is a symbol of biodiversity, but also because local historians believe that the name of our village, “Apella”, comes from “La Pela”, which is the local name for the Silver Fir in the Apennines, as can still be seen on old maps.
The Biopark can be visited by adults and accompanied children, at any time of year, and they can follow the marked paths within the area. Alternatively, on request, groups of visitors and/or school groups can take advantage of group guided tours, either with the owners of Montagna Verde or with selected local environmental guides.
Quite often, customers from the restaurant visit it after lunch or before a meal since it can be reached just a short walk away from the restaurant.
